How we handle personal information
This policy covers the Answer1 website, enquiries, free website tools and direct client communications.
Who this policy covers
Answer1 is operated by Toboggan Labs Pty Ltd, trading as Answer1. Toboggan Labs Pty Ltd is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains how Answer1 handles personal information through answer1.com.au, its enquiry forms, free website tools and direct client communications.
Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@answer1.com.au.
Information we collect
When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, optional phone number, website, service interest and anything you choose to include in your message. If you become a client, we may also hold the business and billing details needed to deliver and administer the agreed work.
Our SEO and Google Ads tools send the website or search phrase and area you enter to our search-data provider, DataForSEO. We retain the query and result privately and reuse results for 30 days. SEO domain submissions are saved and emailed to our team. Rate limits use hashed connection identifiers. Meta ad preview choices and budget changes stay in your browser unless you attach them to an enquiry and submit it. We receive any attached results or choices with your message. Using a tool does not subscribe you to marketing.
Our website and service providers may process ordinary technical data, including IP address, browser details, request time and security logs. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through a website form.
Free AI visibility audit
The free checker only asks for a website. We reduce the address to its public domain, removing paths, tracking parameters and fragments. We save the domain, submission time, entry page and supplied campaign tags in private storage and notify our team. A domain submission does not identify the visitor or subscribe anyone to marketing.
Completed free checks are saved privately and reused for up to 14 days, including when someone else checks the same public website. We retain the original check date. Supporting public-page and research evidence is retained privately so we can review the findings. The public result contains website findings, not visitor details. An encrypted sharing link expires after seven days; anyone with the link can open it during that time. Your browser retains the link for the current session. Downloads remain readable after a link expires.
Public website information is processed by contracted search and AI providers when a live check is needed. Prepared profiles are labelled. If you request an email copy or contact us, the information you supply and any attached findings are processed in our business email system. Requesting a copy does not subscribe you to marketing. Submission records and internal notifications are retained for operating the service and understanding interest in our work. Hosting logs record technical data and basic events to help diagnose faults; event records exclude email addresses and saved-result links.
Website and advertising measurement
With your permission, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies to measure website visits, form and checker steps, successful enquiries, email-link clicks and saved-report actions. This helps us understand which ads bring enquiries. Google may process device and connection information and advertising click identifiers. We also remember campaign labels and your landing page for the current browsing session, expiring after 30 minutes of inactivity, and include these with submitted enquiries and checker notifications so our team can identify their source.
We do not send your enquiry text, email address, submitted website or private result link as measurement event data. A click on an email link is recorded separately from a submitted enquiry. We do not enable personalised advertising or enhanced conversions that upload contact details.
You can allow or decline measurement cookies and change your choice using Cookie preferences in the footer. The checker and contact form work either way. We remember your choice for up to six months.
How we use information
- Provide the website, audit and services you request.
- Respond to enquiries and prepare relevant proposals.
- Operate, protect and improve our website and services.
- Maintain business records and meet legal obligations.
- Send relevant follow-up where you have requested it or it is otherwise permitted by law.
Service providers, subprocessors and disclosure
We use contracted providers for website hosting, email delivery, security, search data and AI processing. Those providers act as subprocessors only where their service requires them to process information on our behalf.
We disclose only the information reasonably required for those providers to perform their services, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law. We do not sell personal information.
Overseas processing
Some providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their infrastructure operate. The precise location can change as providers update their systems. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and limit the information sent to what the service requires.
Retention and security
We keep enquiry and client information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, legitimate business records and applicable legal obligations. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Access, correction and complaints
To ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, opt out of direct communications or make a complaint, email hello@answer1.com.au. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
We will consider requests and investigate complaints within a reasonable period. If a privacy complaint remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Other websites have their own privacy practices and are not controlled by this policy. Our website terms explain the rules for using Answer1's public pages and free tools.
We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will remain published on this page.
